DSC Foundation is dedicated to creating opportunities for individuals to succeed with a better education. DSC invests is three key areas: Early Childhood Education, the Transition Years and Postsecondary Education & Education-Related Programs and Initiatives.

We Believe:

  •  Education Changes Lives and Strengthens Communities
  •  Education Is an Investment, Not an Expense
  •  Regardless of Zip Code, both student & society benefit from a High-Quality Education
  •  Our Mission is more successful through Partnership and Collaboration

 Our main focus is:

  •  Community volunteer training
  •  Screening and placement
  •  Annual Back to School Bash
  •  Annual Holiday Gift Drive
  •  Nonprofit technical alliance
  •  Community involvement marketing campaign

Current initiatives & Past performance:

  •  August 2012 - present Children received a free backpack full of school supplies, health screenings, food and clothes to prepare for the upcoming school year.  While the children shop, the parents explore a variety of informational booths. Healthy snacks, medical testing, new shoes and free haircuts are also provided. The event was designed to provide low-income residents of the community with the opportunity to meet with and explore the valuable health-related resources available throughout Wilmington.
  •  April 2016 - Free services include health screenings, such as A1C glucose screening, blood pressure measurement, Body Mass Index measurement (BMI), vision screenings, immunizations, and fitness classes. Health fair participants also enjoyed healthy food offerings, children’s activities, and entered into a giveaway for health and wellness themed prizes.
  •  June- August 2010-2015 During the school year, many families stretch their food budget by applying for free or reduced-price school meals for their children. Frequently, these families find it difficult to absorb the additional meal costs when school is not in session. These children may be at risk for hunger and malnutrition, and they will return to school in September at a disadvantage relative to their peers. By providing free, nutritious meals throughout the summer, we ensured that every child has access to the food they need to succeed.
  •  May 1996 - Collaboration with Habitat for Humanity and E.I. DuPont where we continuously helped families in the local community build a decent and affordable place to call home.
